Census Bureau: 84.5% of people in Monroe County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 82,244 citizens living in Monroe County in 2021, 84.5% were old enough to vote, equating to 69,494 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 36,420 were male, constituting 52.4%, and 33,074 were female, making up 47.6%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Monroe County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 80%.
